As much of a disdain I have for Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, or Fox cable news in general, I believe in the laws of the First Amendment and the right of free speech. Under the guise of Fox, Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly have had the free reign to say whatever came to their naziesque minds.

1st book review Sextrology by Starsky & Cox
An honest question is that if the sun, moon, and stars affect the plant and animal life, why would it not affect us? Which leads me to the topic of this blog in the first place, a book. Setrology by Stella Starsky and Quinn Cox, it breaks down the sun signs by sex, sign and mind, and sexuality. Many sun sign astrology books are vague and just offer a panacea type evaluation of the signs and make no distinction between male and female. Sextrology seems like they followed you around your whole life and can read into your future. I guarantee once you read it you will not want to put it down. I know it’s good because I’ve had to personally buy this book three times cause it has “grown legs” and walked out of my possession.

Look like Money?
You ever heard anyone say perception is reality? Is that really the case? Or is that us putting exterior on a pedestal? If Bill Gates or Warren Buffet walked into a room half of us would be unaware, because their exterior does not reflect wealth. Rarely will you see Gates in a Italian designed tailored suit nor will you find Warren Buffet in a Bentley. Why is so much emphasis placed on the exterior in the black community?

Talk the talk, write the walk
In order to own or work for a successful business you must be able to speak and write effectively. Being able to communicate is one of the most essential tools that you will need to progress in this new era. Ever talked to someone and after every sentence they say the phrase “you know what I’m saying?” and even when they do give you something like a sentence it is fragmented.
The Concept of The Talented Tenth
September 1903 W.E.B DuBois published a letter, based on The Talented Tenth, a theory that only 10% of the black race carries the other 90% of the population. To begin it’s not an exact number of 10%. It is a belief that may or may not still hold true until today depending on who you ask.
Old School Of Thought Vs. New School Of Thought
(Picture of the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama)
Have you ever been out an notice someone older look at someone younger with disdain? Before even trying to understand were this particular individual is coming from, based on the exterior they make an assumption, they make the assumption and then without any evidence to substantiate their claim they keep their biased based opinions. "You misjudge us because you do not know us"(W.E. DuBois, The Talented Tenth)
The Roots-How I got Over
The Roots-How I Got Over
I’m trying to remember one Roots album I have not enjoyed, can’t think of one and this is no exception. How I Got Over, has that classic Roots feel. The content always weighty and timely, this album seems to reflect a internal struggle within Blackthoughts self.

Black Owned Buisness
Why is it so hard to find black owned anything? I am currently in Fort Valley, Georgia at town with a very dense black population and they own less than 10% of the businesses in Fort Valley. The same goes for back home in Stone Mountain. Why is every gas station, restaurant, or even clothing store owned by someone else?
Lupe Fiasco- Lasers
Lupe Fiasco-Lasers
Another great album from Lupe. He has his traditional anti establishment flown and uptempo skateboardesque beats. He steps a little bit out of his norm on this with a couple tracks like Out of my head ft. Trey Songz, but with tracks like Beautiful lasers, state run radio, and Words I never Said have that classic Lupe style. Some tracks invoke inspiration and hope. In this super materialistic world it’s great to have a well rounded brother dropping something with some weight. This cd has received some harsh criticism, but I think it I because of the content. He really utters some powerful rhetoric on here. Some of the beats are pop like and house music, which I’m not a huge fan of but the overall product is solid. I think State Run Radio, should be played daily.
Baduizm-Erykah Badu
The 1997 debut lp from Ms.Badu is one of the most thought provoking and free spirited albums ever. Traditional african congo drums to modern day drum patterns, the beats hold you tight as the lyrical content soothes your soul. Doesn't matter your race, creed, or color this album transceds race lines. Her passion for her music oozes through your speakers. Be prepared to be taken on a nice, slow, and smooth ride with Ms.Badu. There has never been an artist like E.Badu nor has anyone come close to creating a sound like hers.

Portishead-Portishead 97' LP
Portishead-Portishead The UK trip hop second album is one of the most creative albums you are going to find. The beats are dark ,dungeonesque, and at times hypnotizing . If you are not an open minded person don't bother, this is for the free spirits. It is a band. I love live music f.y.i. The lead singer is Beth Gibbons and composistion is done by Programmer Geoff Barrow. it is reminiscent of Dummy, the bands first album, about 20% darker. Turntable scratches, low bass, and soft siren soft entice you into this neurotic expirence. It is similar to listening to a movie.
Adele-21
Has the Sunday afternoon relaxed vibe, she also has a couple of mood setters on here too.
Adele 21
A very well composed album. She has her own unique sound and vibe. I had the pleasure of hearing her unplugged version of rolling in the deep and it was excellent. She has a strong powerful voice and melodic melodies. She has 11 tracks on the album with a nice blend of up tempo rhythms and contemporary ballads. Has underground soul vibe to it, but she is mos defiantly a mainstream artist.
Big K.R.I.T Return of 4eva
Big K.R.I.T Return of 4eva
Big K.R.I.T’s return of 4eva is a highly anticipated mixtape from the winner of the best mixtape of the year award 2010 from djbooth.net. The sound is so southern. He reminds you of many down south legends. One thing his songs never lack is soul, he got it by the pound. Hard thumping bass, driving snares, and hard hats are a reaccurring theme. In a time were the south is becoming synonymous with pop like dance track and harmonized rapping, Big K.R.I.T is a welcomed change of pace. 21 tracks! A 21 tracked mixtape and these songs are well thought out, not just some left over cuts that didn’t make the album.
Jet Life to Next Life review.
Trademark and Young Roddy. Jet Life to the Next Life.
In short 11 tracks of pure audio dope. You might have heard Trademark & Young Roddy featured on couple tracks from label mate Curren$y. and if you haven’t this is a wonderful introduction. From beginning it grabs you and won’t let you go. The delivery is majestic, seems like they are on a path of perfecting their flows. Relaxed but not slow or monotone.
