FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY ACCREDITATION IN JEOPARDY!

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) placed sanctions on the Fort Valley State University.

Fort Valley State has 12 months to correct some serious issues or their accreditation might be in jeopardy. The college is still currently accredited but is in the warning status.

Sacs reprimanded Fort Valley in multiple areas, control of finances, federal compliance with financial aid programs, and documentation showing the college employs competent faculty.

President Rivers says he is confident that the issue will be resolved, I hope so this is my school. Savannah State is also on the chopping block as well, but they only have 6 months to resolve their issue of not having enough full time employees to ensure a quality education.

I honestly believe that these HBCU’s are on the chopping block and will be bought up by UGA. For Valley has 183 square acres of land and UGA wants it. More information is set to be released on Dec.15th.
