As much of a disdain I have for Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, or Fox cable news in general, I believe in the laws of the First Amendment and the right of free speech. Under the guise of Fox, Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly have had the free reign to say whatever came to their naziesque minds.
I’m happy to learn that they will not renew Beck’s contract and much of that was due to pressure with groups like colorofchange.org, but at the same time people no matter how ignorant or stupid have the right to free speech. Flag burning is not illegal nor is burning the Bible/Quran. Is it wrong, fundamentally yes, constitutionally no. That is what makes this country one of the greatest counties. If you start taking off everyone who offends you only thing left will be Barney and Sesame Street and then people will find something wrong with them.
Glenn Beck is similar to a false prophet, they are only a threat to those who are not fundamentally secure and sound and a threat to those who will entertain his audio/visual trash.
You know I really like this discussion because it is easy to dislike them for what they say however it is not as easy to see what these people represent which is free speech. However even though these people in theory represent all Americans right to free speech; in actuality this right is very limited. Many blacks have tried to use this amendment to their advantage peacefully, however one way or another they are silenced.
