In Georgia the new Governor Nathan Deal has enacted a immigration law similar to the one’s in Arizona. Georgia allegedly has some 200,00+ illegal immigrants and are supposedly taking jobs from good, wholesome, apple pie eating Americans. The law has started an outcry from the mostly the Latino community but on the grand scheme of things other people should be concerned as well
“Some farmers complain the new measure is scaring away the migrant workers they depend on to harvest their fruits and vegetables, potentially putting hundreds of millions of dollars in crops in jeopardy.”(AJC.com), but Nathan Deal proposes that people in prison, on parole, and on probation go and do the jobs that will are done by so called illegal’s.
Prepared for modern day slavery? Might not be that far off, When you are a prisoner of the states your civil rights are stripped and when you are done paying your debt to society you have to petition the court to reenact your civil rights. They will start locking up poor minorities at an alarming rate, to get them out in the field picking the “new cotton”
To put thing in perspective Nathan Deal is not a saint, far from it. Gov. Deal was found guilty by The Office of Congressional Ethics of violating house rules. He used his office to enforce a policy that would benefit his family’s company and earning too much outside income. He left Congress for early retirement, he did that so he could not be prosecuted. In addition to that Deal’s daughter and husband, filed for bankruptcy in 2009 after their Habersham County store failed. It left Deal and his wife to pay a $2.3 million loan, a judge overturned a ruling on which they didn’t have to pay.
