Covert Coup

4/20

Curren$y has done it again. Teaming up with producer extraordinaire The Alchemist, they have created a mixtape classic. Picking up were he left Curren$y had carved his own path and trends on it mightily.

The sound and vibe of the album shows dedication to his craft and full faith in his abilities. He is a testament to what can happen if you are not afraid to gamble on yourself. Not only becoming successful at being a rapper, but building a label, a brand, and a lifestyle that all coincides with his raps. It won’t be long before Diamond Supply( His clothing company) becomes a household name and the term Jet Life will have common place in the youths everyday vernacular.

Dj’s and radio’s are not really giving him the spins as well as others, but you can’t deny a following that he has amassed.

Overall 9/10, could have been a well rounded 12 track mixtape. The beats are so innovative and outside of the norm which gives it a unique feel. Curren$y really hasn’t said anything new or relevant but his command of the English language, flow, and disposition makes it well worth listening to

Favorite Tracks. Life Instructions, Smoke Break, Scottie Pippens ,and Blood Sweat and Gears.
