J.Cole Leads Slave Rebellion In Video For G.O.M.D
Watch G.O.M.D click here
The video for G.O.M.D from J.Cole directed by Lawrence Lamont is an antebellum styled slave narrative. There are many period pieces centered around the typical slave narrative, none like this. It shows J.Cole as a house slave who takes advantage of an opportunity, he arms the field slaves and takes over the plantation, at some point you think someone would write a movie were the slave leads an uprising and takes over. A reality to the times, albeit rare, but there are very few narratives to portray those aspects which is important, because if you believe hollywood you would think everyone owned slaves, but facts show it was less than 3% of the entire population.
You wouldn't think that a rap video could so tastefully portray these types of events; with all that is transpiring in this United States this seems to be done at just the right time. It also shows the dynamics of relations between black and white people, without help from one lady in the video it could have gone terribly wrong.

The Dichotomy of OG Maco
OG MACO Breath mixtape download
Lyrics from Riot
"Underfunded treated like a fungus
They call us niggas, take our culture from us
Gotta deal with Iggys and the Macklemores
Black girls was twerkin', they was screamin', "whores"
But Miley did it and she got a tour"(lyrics from genius.com)
You may know OG Maco from his smash hit "You Guessed it" , but if you haven't ventured on from his singles you might not know he is one of the most talented young artist coming out of Atlanta. Again if you only judge him by his radio singles you wouldn't appreciate the diversity. His mixtape entitled "Breath" was a critical look at the status of Black America at the time(December 2014 Mike Brown,Tamir Rice,Etc). I know what you think, how can OG Maco have a valid opinion on something that weighs so heavily, I would ask how could he not. As someone who has lost close ones to violence , growing up on the Southside of Atlanta, and essentially "Trappin' for tuition", how could he not feel the tension when young black men that look just like him are subjected to harassment and arrest. I encourage you to download the mixtape, it's only 3 tracks.
Lyrics from Get Down
Marijuana illegal but Newports'll make you die
Welcome to Scamerica, all you need is a tie
Why does bein' whatever whatever just sound like a lie?
Why our country so opposed to tyrants, the biggest one?
Why we scream peace so much but we carry the biggest gun?
Took a second for introspection and seen the lives we neglected
No change for starvin' kids but spend 20 racks on a necklace
And Muslim/Catholic protestors spend most of their time protestin'
I will be the first to admit I only listened to OG Maco for amusement , but I had my eyes open. He is someone that is lyrical, conscious, and extremely secular he just happens to be hood. If you listened to his different mixtapes you can clearly see he listened to Dungeon Family growing up and others as well, he has his own style and sound. Salute to OG Maco, we also have the link to his new mixtape Tax Free Ep

Thoughts for Food....
Slice of grilled chicken pizza and Lemon Pepper Wings
One of the many pluses to Atlanta is the access to food that you won't find anywhere else in the world, there are many boutique like restaurants here and we will do our best to bring you all of them. The one we are bringing to you today is called Paccino's Pizza located 4081 Redan Rd Stone Mountain 30083. Sitting in an almost impossible to see business plaza off Redan road this small, almost 90's style restaurant houses some of the most premium ingredients and subtle twist on American Favorites Pizza,Subs, and Wings this place won't disappoint you on flavor. In addition to the classics they also have various Pasta's, Salads, and surprise veterinarian food as well, such as eggplant lasagna.
The Pizza slice is a humongous NY slice on hand toss pizza dough cooked in a traditional pizza oven and coated with a layer of delicious garlic butter. The wings are some of the best you will find in GA. The lemon pepper will have you have you scrapping the reminiscence of the box.

Atlanta and Battle Rap?Must be 2 sides #Dontflopatl #Dontflop
Battle Rap is making an emergence in Atlanta The Internationally Known Battle Rap circuit Don't Flop has touched down in Atlanta to bring some of the best talent assembled to Atlanta. April 4th 2015 Don't Flop brought the main event battles, they had prileminary battles the night before. Hosted by Grind Time South Veterans Sonny Bamboo and Syd Vicious. Many crowded inside Apache Cafe
(64 3rd street Nw) to see some top ranked talent and the stars didn't disappoint. Jonny Storm vs Luciano Crakk started off the event and it ended with a 2on2 battle with DNA & Kshine vs John John da don & Syah Boy and the Main Event Math Hoffa vs Chilla Jones.
Of course this being AtlFAme we have to talk about and show love to the Atlanta rappers that held it down. Ness Lee and Syd Vicious. I think that both of them won very close battles, extremely close battles some say the other guys won. Soul and Real Deal, both tremendously talented but I don't think they did enough to take the win and plus they were in Atlanta. The funniest line to me came from Ness Lee " Head turned to the side, Oh I been waiting on you from the Doe(Door)"
