Ohini Jones artist off the week 6/13-6/19

This week’s artist of the week is Ohini Jonez. A Brunswick Georgia native, Ohini like every artist I will feature has a style synonymous to himself. Coming from Georgia you might expect him to sound a certain way or talk about limited Georgia experience but his music transcends state lines and even regional lines.

He sent me some tracks to preview and his subject matter is deep, my two favorite tracks from him is “Nigger(Filthy)” and “Diss song to people who don’t know about rap”. I will post a link to his page so you can check him out. It’s so much more music out there than what you hear on the radio and it’s only a matter of time before the real takes over.

Blessed with above average intelligence and a nice vernacular, Ohini paints a vivid image and uses his words to bring you in, make you comfortable, feed your soul, and then politely ask you to leave and come back later. Even though his lyrics have content he is a versatile rapper and understands the business aspects off rap, and makes it a point to remain open minded when it comes to rap. In addition to lyrics his beats are nice as well are proverbial renaissance he pumps out three beats and four songs a day.
