Human Centipad, this is what happens when you agreee to the terms and conditions of Itunes. |
I’m going to tell you something that you probably already know. Your technology is tracking you. I’m not a conspiracy theorist or anything of the sort, but coming from someone who has over 10 years in the technology field, I’m fully aware of capabilities of all technology.
Let’s start with cell phones. First thing you should know is that all phones since 2003 have GPS technology in them. It’s for emergencies, but there has been instances in when GPS information has been used in legal cases by the prosecution. In recent media headlines, the Iphone has come under scrutiny, for alleged tracking every step you make. Phone companies claim they have to know were you are at to give you access the to the closer tower. Whatever the case may be, I don’t like the idea of phone companies monitoring my steps, which is why I often leave it at home.
Next lets go to your computer. With the implication of Wi-fi and broadband you have a constant connection to the Internet. On it’s most simplistic level the internet and many other data work like this, there is a sender and there is a receiver, whatever is sent has to be received by something and vice versa. You are on one end, but who is on the other. When Windows ask for an update of your software what do you think they are really doing.
Last let’s talk about your television, yes your television. (Every read 1984) Cable boxes keep track of what you watch and they sell that information to advertisers, so it won’t be uncommon for you and your neighbor to be watching the same show, but your commercials to be different. With cable it’s the same thing as the Internet there is a sender and a receiver.
